What is Black Tea?

Black tea is withered, and fully oxidized. Chinese and most Eastern Asians refer to fully oxidized teas as "Red" tea because of the bright golden-red colored infusion. Major production areas of black teas stem from India, China, Sri Lanka, and Africa offering varying degrees of taste profiles.

Depending on the aroma, flavor, body, elevation, and time of harvest, Art of Tea offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy rare and flavorful teas ranging from single origin First Flush Darjeeling to blended black teas with fruit pieces and spices. High quality black tea is generally kept within the Country of origin and very rarely gets exported. We welcome you to enjoy the breadth and depth of our selection of top grade black teas.
