Which Literary Classics Go Best with Tea Classics?

It's no secret that the perfect sidekick to a cup of tea is a good book. While caffeinated teas can give you heightened energy and focus, they're soothing enough to allow for a calming sit-down with a literary classic. We've paired literary classics with some of our favorite teas and tisanes from the Art of Tea Classic Collection to help you create a magical reading experience for yourself or your little ones!

Earl Grey Creme

Lusciously rich with plot twists, Great Expectations is a great match for Earl Grey Creme. The tale of an orphan who receives money from an anonymous benefactor, Great Expectations is chock-full of mystery and suspense. Earl Grey Creme's classic British-ness and surprising flavor notes make this book-tea duo an exciting pair.

Egyptian Chamomile

Give a nod to the power couple of the '40s (B.C., that is) by combining Egyptian Chamomile and William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Packed with action, quick dialogue, and betrayal, not even the soothing effects of Chamomile could send you to sleep while reading this famous play. If you've already read Julius Caesar, try something new and move onto Cleopatra's next great love with Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra

French Lemon Ginger

Playful, refreshing, and totally kid-friendly, French Lemon Ginger is the perfect companion to The Little Prince. Just like our French Lemon Ginger, this story is perfect to share with little ones, but complex enough to be enjoyed by adults. Enjoy the tale of a young prince from a distant star who finds himself on earth and ponder the absurdity of adulthood while you sip on this citrus delight.

Jasmine Pearls

Decadent and luxurious, Jasmine Pearls beg to be accompanied by The Great Gatsby. Following the opulent lives of New York elites, The Great Gatsby is a tale of great love and loss. Allow the fragrance of jasmine blossoms to consume you as you immerse yourself in the "new money" world of the enigmatic Jay Gatsby.

Tali's Masala Chai

Experience Tali's Masala Chai with the same childlike amazement that Sara experiences India in A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The story follows a young girl, Sara, who is left at a boarding school in London while her father is in India. Sara's moxie pairs perfectly with the spicy punch of our chai blend and the story's heartwarming conclusion will only be enhanced by the cozy comfort of sipping hot chai. Read this book to your children and serve up caffeine-free Rooibos Chai to make this a family affair.

Velvet Tea

Pair two more adult-approved, kid-friendly favorites, Velvet Tea and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The classic adventure tale follows a girl who escapes the "real world" only to find herself in a world of utter nonsense. Find your own escape from the "real world" with sumptuous flavors of chocolate and mint. Bonus points if you throw a tea party fit for the Mad Hatter and the March Hare!

The Classic Collection features some of the most popular teas and tisanes from Art of Tea. Like great literature, these classics are widely enjoyed and greatly loved. No matter which classic tea and book you choose, you'll find that tea and a good book are always a good idea!
