Art of Tea x The White House

This past June, we were honored to be among the select brands chosen by the White House to gift to foreign dignitaries attending the IX Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles.

The Summit, which gathers leaders from all of North, South, and Central America once every three years, was hosted by the United States for the first time since its inaugural meeting in 1994, a special moment that the White House sought to commemorate with a gift of curated items both made in and reflective of the Americas.

After taking notice of the custom blends and teas that we had created for The Getty Center and The Getty Villa, the White House approached us to mark the occasion with a custom offering inspired by the beauty and diversity of America, and together, we created the “Tour of America” tea gift set.

Housed in a beautiful wooden box, it contained custom-designed tins of three specially commissioned teas – our signature Pacific Coast Mint, featuring spearmint and peppermint grown in Oregon and California; Georgia Peach, a blend of black tea and marigolds that captures the bright, crisp flavor of sun-ripened summer peaches; and Getty Garden Tea, a custom blend inspired by the iconic gardens at the Getty Villa in Los Angeles, – accompanied by a copy of our CEO and Founder Steve Schwartz’s new Amazon best-selling book, Art of Tea: A Journey of Ritual, Discovery, and Impact.”

We’ve long been inspired by the origin stories of every tea we source the world over, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to bring a sense of place to this historic gathering through tea.
