Matcha Pound Cake from Art of Tea

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2-3 drops of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325F
  2. Get your loaf pan ready by lining it with parchment paper, or grease it with butter then dust it evenly with flour – this works like a charm and nothing gets stuck to the pan
  3. Cream the butter and sugar together
  4. Add the milk, eggs and vanilla extract and beat until well combined
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the dry ingredients – flour, matcha, baking powder, and salt
  6. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet mixture and blend until smooth
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden
  8. Remove from oven and allow to sit for about 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely
